Spirutual Journey
Rev.Fr.Dr.A.Christy @ Christiraj, is the Parish Priest of St.Antony's Catholic Church at Manapakkam, Chennai. He was ordained as priest on 31.04.2006 by His excellency The Most Rev.Dr.Neethenathan, Bishop of Chingleput Diocese. fr.Christy started his priestly life as an assistant at the Diocesan Cathedral, St.Joseph Cathedral, Chingleput. From 2007-2008 he had been an assistant parish Priest at St.Patrick's Church in St.Thomas Mount, Chennai. He later took charge as a Parish Priest of Sendivakkam, a village Parish in the Western side of the Diocese, which is dedicated to our Lady, help of Christians. Fr. A.Christy had also been a Correspondent of RC. Higher Secondary School at Sendivakkam. He was also the Rector of the Boarding in the Same village.
After serving for five years in the above mentioned village, he was transferred to a Mission station called Melrosapuram. He was a Parish priest of the Missions and was working among the Lepers from 2013-2014. During his mission in the Mission station, he was very much touched by the lepers residing in the Parish territory and moved with a great compassion, he worked hard to bring smiles in the wearied faces of the Lepers. At their request Father put up a Small Chapel to the Lepers. His Bishop and the Diocesan administration together with local People constructed a Chapel to them and did the blessing and Inauguration on 28.04.2015.
Fr.Christy who was the Parish Priest of Melrosapuram, did the Renovation and Extension of the Parish Church there. The Parish Church is dedicated to our Lady, help of Christians. From 2014 May 24, Fr.A. Christy has been a parish Priest of St.Antony's Church, Manapakkam, Chennai.125.
